Doku might be a bubble waiting to burst
A goal-less start to fall, France looks to young talent, Doku's hot streak
Happy Friday Footyfam,
Each Friday we like to bring you some updates on trending topics from world football as well as the biggest things to look out for this weekend!
We have a jam-packed 3-minute read for you today!
Let’s get dive in.
Match of the week:
Manchester City vs Chelsea | Nov. 12 - 11:30am EST
Chelsea are at home looking to bounce back after a pair of… less than stellar results, taking a beating from Tottenham and Blackburn Rovers.
It won’t be an easy task against Doku and City, but this week brought some problems for the boys in (lighter) blue.
Both Stones and Akanji are unavailable after picking up midweek injuries.
This may ring in some confidence for the Chelsea attack.
And just as nice for the Chelsea back line, Haaland seems to not be available either.
All in all, it should be a fun watch.
Basel’s Spooky October
What’s scarier than being at the bottom of the table?
Not scoring a single goal for an entire month.
The Swiss side got shut out in all four of their matches during October.
Yikes.
Keine Tore im Oktober = kein Tor des Monats 😒

Warren Zaïre-Emery Gets the Call Up
At just 17 years-old, Zaïre-Emery has gotten the call up to the French national team.
If he gets any minutes in the upcoming international break, that would make him the second youngest player to get a cap for France - right behind Camavinga.
His PSG teammates were happy to show the young star some love.
Warren Zaïre-Emery, called up by France at just 17… and PSG players celebrate with him 🇫🇷
In case he plays some minutes, he’ll become the 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 player ever to debut with France after Camavinga.

How good can Doku be?
Jérémy Doku has left his mark ever since joining the Blues back in August.
In that time, he’s found his way to 11 points (2 goals, 6 assists).
This doesn’t like anything special… until you account for the fact that he’s only 21.
With that in mind, his goal and 4 assists this past weekend against Bournemouth earned him a few accolades:
Became the 8th player in EPL history to tally 4 assists in a single match
Youngest player to have 4 assists in a single match
Youngest player to have 5 goal involvements in a single match
Will Pep mold another superstar? Or will Doku fizzle out? Let us know.
