It’s been another great week.

Let’s get into it.

Match of the week:

Barcelona vs Girona | Sunday, Dec. 10 | 3pm EST

Barcelona make our match of the week for the second week in a row with this one.

Girona is sitting in second place, and Barcelona is biting at their heels in third.

I don’t think anyone expected to see Girona above Barça at any point during this season, but they’ve shown what it means to have grit.

Each team has one of this season’s top goal scorers in Lewandowski and Dovbyk (both at 7).

This one should definitely be exciting and full of energy as both teams continue to chip away at the top spot.

Brazilian giants relegated

For the first time in club history (111 years), Santos has been relegated to Brazil’s second division.

Santos has produced some of the biggest names in the world, such as Pele, Neymar, and many more.

The fans have not taken it lightly either, as full-on riots have been reported and documented in the city.

History has to burn out at some point I guess.

Xabi working his magic in Leverkusen

After escaping relegation last season, Bayer Leverkusen have found their groove.

They’re on a 21-game unbeaten streak and are sitting on top of the table.

In fact, they’re only one of two unbeaten teams in all of Europe this season.

A well deserved, record-breaking start to the season.

The most penalized year in Premier League history?

So far, there have been more red cards (31) in the 140 games we’ve seen this season.

That’s more than the entirety of last season.

And we’re not even halfway through…

There’s been a red card in roughly 1 out of every 4 matches.

If things stay the same, they’ll break the previous record of 75 in a season with ease.
